Al Irshad Arts and Science College for Women is a flagship initiative of Al Irshad Charitable Society and actively present in academics for the past two decades. The college was initially started as a center to provide programs under the School of Distance Education, University of Calicut. Later in the year 2014, it was granted recognition from the Government of Kerala as well as affiliation to the university ofCalicut. Located on top of the hill covered with lush green atmosphere on the shore of Omassery-Thiruvambady district high way, the college gives an aesthetic appearance to all.
As a women friendly institution, it strongly believes in empowerment of girls students in order to enable them take a key role in social transformation. The college presently runs 5 graduate programs and 1 post graduate program in different disciplines such as arts, science and commerce. It gives pride and privilege to the college that its alumni are working in various designations in and around the country. The dedicated team of teaching and supportive staff of the college is striving hard to maintain quality education, discipline and keep par with dynamic standards of academic milieu. The pro-activeness of magnanimous management committee enhances the synergy and energy of the team of faculty and students.
The college is always committed to drive its operations towards the formation of an intellectually vibrant, socially committed, professionally competent and spiritually holistic women community. Since its inception, the college is a ray of hope for different sections of the society which is deprived of economic and educational backwardness. The focus of academic initiatives under the college is particularly spread across the surrounding panchayaths and all over the state in general. So far, the college could produce dedicated degree holding girls who are splendidly serving the society in various positions. The college is presently an aided center under the minority welfare ministry of the government of Kerala to provide various training and premarital counseling to women.

The first revelation of the holy Quran as given to Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) was “Read in the name of god”. It emphasizes the role of education in society. Vedas uses “Mrityoma amritangamaya” to mean the same in Sanskrit. Moreover, it is evident in a Hadith by prophet (ﷺ) that “the best of all in the world is a righteous woman”. Our arts and science college for women is an embodiment of all the aforesaid great thoughts. We make women who are able to transform the world. As a quality focused, value based and excellence oriented institution, Arts and Science College for Women is an initiative under Al Irshad Charitable Society that has all the potential to fuel in the women education at its best.

Education is the most pragmatic way of social empowerment. Furthermore, women are the key players in shaping the society. Since its inception in 1999, al Irshad charitable society has been keeping a keen observation on various issues pertaining to women education and implementing solutions to them. Al Irshad Arts and Science College for Women is one of such initiatives working as a scaffold to women students for the past two decades. The college is committed to provide quality education to them in order to take part in the community development process. As envisaged by the great journalist and writer Nora Ephron “Your education is a dress rehearsal that is yours to lead” we prepare the women to be self sufficient and professionally competent. We consider them as princess and queens who lead serve the people tomorrow.

Al Irshad Arts and Science College and all its aspects of educational process are carefully designed to cultivate and stimulate the intellectual and social development of students. We promote tolerance and mutual respect and accord prime importance to behavioral discipline, moral integrity and cognitive development of our students.
